At the September AKC Delegates meeting, a rule change will be voted on that is very meaningful to Parent Clubs. It provides that at one Parent
Club National Specialty per breed per year, the Reserve Winners Dog and/or the Reserve Winners bitch will be awarded a three point major, if the
number of dogs competing in the regular classes of the Reserve Winner's sex totals at least twice the number required for a five point major, in
the region in which the event is held. Any Parent Club not interested in this provision can opt out.
